Strategy for Physically Distanced Arts Education

A design to engage students with live Zoom demonstrations through the use for a multi-camera rig, LED lighting panels, monitors, and high resolution video and audio. Movable overhead camera gives students access to difficult to capture artistic processes. Live camera switcher enables quick switching from different camera views and integrates seamlessly with Zoom. I developed this concept from experiences teaching in Spring and Summer ’20. In my film production courses I was able to make radical improvement to instruction by integrating cinema cameras, lenses, and lighting into Zoom demonstrations. This 10x10x10’ rig would be a prototype for other departments in the Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
