Softly Goes the Engine

Softly goes the engine

Softly screened on Saturday night in a 'best of' Slamdance Shorts program at Studio 1636 in Hollywood. The films were screened on a kinetic projection screen called The Engine. It was an interesting space with a seriously-indie-film audience in attendance, especially when you consider some of the dumps in LA that are called screening rooms. Afterwards DP Quyen Tran got raves and we got requests to expand the story into a series which caused nervous glances between Brian, Michael and myself.

The best part was having friends and several peeps who worked on Softly in attendance, and so thanks to y'all who hauled it to Hollywood. Next time I will book us all rooms at the Mark Twain so we can bring da noise to the funk.

    Hi Bryan,
I enjoy your blog, LA noirish life. When do you come to Tokyo again?
I skyped with Bruce last week. He will go to Gwangju Biennale soon.
I wish I could go there. Sumi
