Smoke

In a subversive reworking of a classic film from the early 70’s, Bryan Jackson details the trouble that ensues when a teenager finds a wild boy in the woods. Smoke is a wry commentary on the malleability of narrative forms and the ease of queer readings.

“Some of the best work in this year’s Out on Film is its series of short films, especially… Jackson’s haunting re-editing of a Disney kids adventure.”
