Second Batch of Backings

Backdrop Project Expands

I was offered additional drops from the Art Director Guild Backdrop Recovery Project. Two trips in my car and suddenly the project has doubled to 24 backings. While they certainly come with some challenges, I was offered some amazing drops with incredible history and I couldn’t really turn them down. Tom Walsh and Adrian Renteria from the Art Directors Guild have been generous with their time and support. The documentation for the drops is almost nonexistent, but with the help of my Dad, friend Mimi Zeiger and Google Street view, I’ve already I’ve solved one unknown backing from the 1978 science fiction film ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers.’ Next step is inventorying the backings and building a database.
