EDUCATOR

Jackson is co-founder of the UC Irvine Digital Filmmaking program. The DigiFilm program mixes traditional film school production training with creative, experimental approaches to storytelling. The program is majority BIPOC, Women and LGBTQ+ students. Jackson developed and led a range of directing and production courses, and supervised advanced projects. He led a three-quarter studio that explored narrative, design, and interactivity. His courses have produced collaborative web series projects and an award-winning series of immersive audio walks. He established the International Documentary Projects program that sent student filmmakers on four-week shoots to social justice, environmental action, and community empowerment programs in Nepal, Paraguay and South Africa.
